No matter how gracefully you want to age, we still want to do what we can to reduce the signs of fine lines and wrinkles. And just because you don’t want to get any procedures or surgery, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still non-invasive procedures that work.
There are lots of ways to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Check out our top tips of how you can reduce the signs of aging
Protect yourself from the sun
A high factor sunscreen on your face is a must all year round, even when it’s overcast. Over exposure to the sun is a sure-fire way to give yourself wrinkles. When it’s particularly sunny, it’s recommended to also wear a large hat to keep yourself shaded.
Don’t smoke
We all know the health implications smoking can have on our bodies, but it also has nasty effects on our skin. Cigarette smoke is claimed to age skin, as it breaks down collagen and elastin. Smokers tend to have 40% thinner skin than non-smokers, and significantly more wrinkles. So if you want to turn back the clock, put the cigarette down.
Get regular facials
Just in the same way you would go to the dentist twice a year to keep your teeth in tip-top condition, you should do the same for your skin. Getting regular facials will help to keep your pores unclogged and skin glowing. There are also many types of clinical facials, such as skin needling, that will help to stimulate the production of collagen, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Eat well
A healthy diet full of fruit and vegetables is important, but not just for our health. What we put into our bodies will have an impact on our skin, and the antioxidants in the fruit and veg will help to make you look younger and more radiant.
Load up on water
There’s a reason why models all hail water as their number one drink, because it works! Make sure that you’re getting at least 2 litres of water a day, to keep yourself hydrated and your skin looking glowing and radiant.
